September is Back-to-Business Month

August is winding down and people are starting to see that the end of summer is just a few short weeks away. Now is the time to start to regroup for the big push for year-end.

I always look at the year as having two beginnings.  The first is of course on January 1, the new year.  The second comes when the summer winds down and people get back to business after Labor Day.

While most people hate to see the end of summer (and I am among them), you can sense the renewed energy when September rolls around.  The crisp morning air and the bright sunshine enhance this.

Traffic on the roads builds back to its normal levels, the kids are back in school, college and pro football games abound, and the business season kicks off in earnest.

As you approach Labor Day, take a look at your goals from January, see where you are falling short, see where you are surpassing your expectations, and make all of the appropriate adjustments in your day-to-day activities so that you can achieve what you set out to back in January.
