When you get back to business after the summer season, it is hard enough to get into the normal swing of things. Don’t take on unnecessary new projects that shift your attention from your main goals such as joining new committees, or taking on additional projects at work. Instead align all of your resources to achieve key objectives.
Evaluate your workload and to do lists to make sure they are in support of those objectives.
Re-organize your week to focus on key objectives.
Use a calendar to plan tasks in between meetings and commitments – this will help you manage time in relation to your workload, and you will be reminded of important tasks whenever you consult your calendar (and feel confident that you have allocated enough time to complete it.)
